This chairman is responsible for overseeing the Lions Opportunities for Youth Committee that coordinates all youth-related activities in the district. Members of the committee include Leo club, youth exchange, youth outreach and Peace Poster Contest chairmen. The committee may also include chairmen of other youth activities sponsored at the district level. It is suggested that the vice district governor and, if applicable, the Leo District President, serve on the district Lions Opportunities for Youth Committee.
· Become familiar with the various youth programs in the district: Leo clubs, youth exchange, youth camps, Peace Poster Contest and youth outreach including Lions-Quest, drug awareness, street children program, scouting, Special Olympics, speaking contests, scholarships, etc.
· Provide a forum for youth activities chairmen to exchange ideas and coordinate activities.
· Encourage Lions clubs in the district to support youth activities.
· Provide guidance to the club level Lions Opportunities for Youth Committees.
· Promote Lions Young Leaders in Service and Young Ambassadors of the 21st Century Awards.
