Peace Poster Contest Chairman

 

The District Peace Poster Contest Chairman is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the district for this annual contest that challenges young people to think about peace and express what it means to them.

 

The Lion who serves as Peace Poster Contest Chairman should be:

 

·        Well-organized.

·        Enthusiastic about the contest.

·        Creative (for example, thinking of new ways to boost participation in the district, publicizing the winners, etc.).

·        Available to clubs for questions.

·        Available to headquarters for assistance (for example, helping to find clubs to sponsor the contest when a participation request is received from a school or youth group).

 

Chairman Duties

 

·        Become familiar with the rules for participation in the Peace Poster Contest.

·        Prepare a presentation about the contest for clubs in the district to encourage them to participate.

·        Serve as a resource for clubs who have questions about the contest.

·        Promote participation in the contest at district conventions.

·        Work with the district governor to conduct the district judging.

·        Follow up with the council chairman to make sure the district’s entry was received in time.

·        Work with participating club chairman to properly publicize their winning entry on the local level.

·        Serve as a liaison between the district and headquarters for different aspects of the contest.
