International Understanding and Cooperation Chairman

 

The first object of Lionism, ‘‘to create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world,’’ emphasizes the importance of international understanding and cooperation (commonly known as international relations) in any Lions program.

 

Chairman Duties

 

·        Read the District International Understanding and Cooperation Chairman Guide.

·        Work with LCIF and youth exchange chairmen when necessary.

·        Determine the status of this program in the district.

·        Plan goals for the district.

·        Understand some of the activities in which Lions can engage:

                   — Lions Interclub Program

                   — International friendship contacts

                   — Stamp exchanges

                   — Club and school twinnings

                   — International partnership through Lionism

                   —  United Nations information activities, including Lions Day with the

     United Nations

              — Vocational assistance

·        Encourage clubs in the district to participate in these programs.
